The 14th and 15th of September 2018 marked the launch of the first cycle called The Powers of Emotion. This Accélérations event offered a participative and innovative program, free and open to all, throughout the entire Centre Pompidou.
The public was invited to experiment, feel, and discover the infinite facets of the powers of emotion through performances, debates, creative family workshops, and themed tours of the permanent collections. In the form of duos, trios, sound interventions, and artistic or theatrical performances, around 40 guests from various fields (artists, entrepreneurs, and scientists) came together to explore, impart, and share emotions with the public. The artist Lhola Amira, composer Karol Beffa, artist Abd Al Malik, particle physicist Nathalie Besson, singer Camille, neuroscientist Antonio Damasio, and the pianist duo Jatekok were all present. And psychoanalyst and philosopher Cynthia Fleury was the keynote speaker at the event.
The event was a huge success, with numerous visitors to the Centre Pompidou and live broadcasts which attracted around 200,000 viewers.
