In 1992, Pierre Gattaz took over the management of the family company Radiall, founded by Lucien and Yvon GATTAZ. A few years earlier, he began his career as an engineer at Dassault Électronique and then joined Fontaine électronique and Convergie (a subsidiary of the Dynaction group) as Managing Director.
Committed to professional unions, in 1999 he was elected president of the Syndicat des industries de composants électroniques passifs (Sycep), which became the Groupement des industries de l’interconnexion, de composants et des sous-ensembles électroniques (Gixel). He was Chairman of Gixel until 2003.
From 2002 to 2007, he was founding Chairman of the FIlière des industries électroniques et numériques and in 2007 he was appointed Chairman of the Fédération des industries électriques, électroniques et de communication (FIEEC). A director of Cegos since 2006, he is also a member of the executive committee of the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF).
In 2009, Pierre Gattaz was appointed Chairman of the National Quality and Performance Council (CNQP). A year later, he became President of the Group of Industrial Federations (GFI). At the same time, he is a member of the board of the Conseil national de l’industrie, a member of the board of directors of the think-tank la Fabrique de l’Industrie and a member of the board of the Union des industries et métiers de la métallurgie (UIMM).
From 2013 to 2018, Pierre Gattaz was President of the MEDEF. In 2018, he was elected to the presidency of Business Europe. More recently in 2019, he launched an endowment fund called Y Croire, which aims to encourage the development of entrepreneurship in isolated, rural and urban areas.
