Olivier Babeau

Olivier Babeau is a graduate of the ENS Paris-Saclay, ESCP, and holds postgraduate degrees in economics and philosophy. He is an economics agregé and a doctor in management sciences.

He is a professor at the University of Bordeaux, having previously taught at Dauphine and Sciences Po. He has been a speechwriter for a minister, a prime minister, and several presidential candidates.

As an essayist, he has notably published “La Nouvelle Ferme des Animaux”; “L’Horreur politique”; “Le nouveau désordre numérique” and “La tyrannie du divertissement: ne laissez vos loisirs gâcher votre vie”.

He is a columnist in the press (Les Echos, Le Figaro, L’Opinion, France-Tireur) and on continuous news television channels (BFM TV, LCI). He is regularly invited to the media to comment on economic news.

He founded and presides over the Institut Sapiens, an independent think tank focusing on the upheavals caused by new technologies in the economy and society.
